Product photo shoot or AI images: cost per image in 2026
Short answer
In Turkey a product photo shoot was quoted at 2,000 to 90,000 TL per job on Armut in November 2026. Per image that is about 25 to 50 TL for large plain-backdrop jobs and hundreds of lira for small ones. AI images from Bulsu Labs Studio cost €1.75 to €2 each, and the gap favours AI once a model, location or scene is needed.
When you need product images there are two routes. You book a photographer, or you have AI images made from the product photo you already have. Which one is cheaper depends on how many products you have, how many images you need, and whether the images need a model or a setting.
This guide gives sourced shoot prices from Turkey in 2026, works out the cost per image from real requests, and separates the cases where a shoot is still the right call. Figures were checked on 7 November 2026. Turkey is the example market here, but the same method works with prices from your own city.
What a product photo shoot costs in Turkey in 2026
The most regular public price data in Turkey sits on the price pages of Armut, a marketplace where people post service requests and get quotes. These are not official tariffs. They are ranges drawn from real requests, which makes them a fair picture of the market.
| Service | Range shown on Armut | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Product photo shoot (per job) | 2,000 to 90,000 TL | Product photo shoot prices 2026 |
| Catalogue shoot | 2,750 to 20,000 TL | Catalogue shoot |
| Female model fee | 2,000 to 12,500 TL | Female model prices 2026 |
The product shoot page also lists the four questions that move the price most: what the product is, how many products, how many angles per product, and which platforms the photos are for. The pages do not say whether studio hire, retouching or a model are included. Ask about each one when you get a quote.
Cost per image, worked out from real requests
A price per job tells you little on its own. The real question is what each usable image costs you. Armut's pages show real requests with the number of products, the number of angles and the price. We divided a few of them by the number of images.
| Request (date, city) | Products x angles | Price | Per image |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clothing, 27 Oct 2026, Izmir | 50 x 4 = 200 | 5,000 TL | 25 TL |
| Clothing, 26 Oct 2026, Istanbul | 20 x 4 = 80 | 3,000 TL | 37.5 TL |
| Food, 8 Oct 2026, Istanbul | 100 x 3 = 300 | 15,000 TL | 50 TL |
| Other products, 1 Nov 2026, Ankara | 5 x 4 = 20 | 10,000 TL | 500 TL |
Two things stand out. A plain, high-volume shoot on a white backdrop can be cheap per image. A small job gets expensive per image, because the photographer's setup and travel are split across only a few shots. These are prices at the quote stage, not final invoices. The Istanbul page has more examples.
Cost per image with AI
AI product images are easier to price, because the price is usually fixed per number of images. Bulsu Labs Studio has two packs, both paid once.
| Pack | Price | Per image | In TL (approx.) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 images | €100 | €2 | 112 TL |
| 100 images | €175 | €1.75 | 98 TL |
The TL figures use the Central Bank of Turkey rate for 6 November 2026 (€1 = 55.96 TL, forex selling). They move with the exchange rate. Any sales tax is shown at checkout.
Here is the honest comparison. If all you need is a plain white-backdrop image of many products, and the products are already in one place, a good bulk shoot can beat AI on price per image. AI pulls ahead once a model, a location or a scene comes in. A sofa in a living room, a table in a garden or a product on a kitchen counter adds location, set and sometimes model fees to a shoot. With AI the price per image stays the same.
Costs that do not show in the quote
When you put a shoot quote next to an AI pack, look past the headline number. These items often turn up later.
- A model. A separate fee for clothing. On Armut the range for a female model is 2,000 to 12,500 TL.
- Location and set. Rent, props and setup for a home, office or outdoor scene.
- Moving the product. For large items like furniture, transport there and back.
- Retouching and revisions. How many images are retouched and how many rounds of changes are included.
- Time. Finding a date, the shoot day, picking and delivery. A new product is not on sale during that time.
- Usage rights. Can you use the images in ads and on marketplaces with no time limit? Get it in writing.
When you need a shoot and when AI is enough
The two routes are not rivals. For most brands the sensible plan is one good base photo per product, shot once, with scenes made from it. This table helps you decide.
| Situation | Better route |
|---|---|
| There is no photo of the product at all | A shoot. AI needs at least one clear photo. |
| The image will be presented as a real shoot | A shoot. Passing off an AI image as a real photo misleads buyers. |
| You need fabric movement, drape or video | A shoot |
| Hundreds of products, white backdrop only, all in one place | Either works, compare the price per image |
| Few products, many scenes (living room, garden, kitchen, season) | AI |
| Large or hard to move products | AI |
| A new product has to go on sale now | AI, because there is no shoot date to wait for |
In an AI image the colour, pattern or logo of a product can drift, so every image has to be checked against the original. Our guide to AI product images from one photo covers which photo is enough and how to run that check.
Do your own maths
The cleanest way to compare quotes is to turn everything into a cost per usable image.
- Write down what you need: how many products, how many images each, how many on a white backdrop and how many in a scene.
- Add model, location, transport and retouching to the shoot quote.
- Divide the total by the number of usable images you will receive.
- Convert the AI price per image into your currency.
- Write down the time as well. Estimate what a week's delay in going on sale costs you.
A worked example: you have 20 products and want one white-backdrop image and two living room scenes for each. That is 60 images. The 100-image AI pack costs €175, and the other 40 images can go to more products or more scenes. For a shoot, ask for a quote that includes the living room location and set, then divide it by 60. The answer depends on prices where you are.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a product photo shoot cost in 2026?
In Turkey, Armut's price page showed 2,000 to 90,000 TL per job on 7 November 2026, and 2,750 to 20,000 TL for a catalogue shoot. The price depends on the product, the number of products, angles per product and where the photos will be used.
Is AI cheaper than a product photo shoot?
Not always. A large white-backdrop shoot with products in one place can cost less per image. AI is usually cheaper when you need scenes, a model or a location, or when you only have a few products.
How do I compare a shoot quote with an AI pack?
Turn both into a cost per usable image. Add model, location, transport and retouching to the shoot quote, divide by the number of images you will get, and compare with the AI price per image.
When is a real photo shoot still necessary?
When there is no photo of the product at all, when the image will be presented as a real shoot, or when you need fabric movement or video. AI needs at least one clear photo to start from.
How much does a model cost for a clothing shoot?
On Armut's female model page the range in November 2026 was 2,000 to 12,500 TL. It is usually charged on top of the photographer's fee.
How much does Bulsu Labs Studio cost per image?
50 images cost €100 (€2 each) and 100 images cost €175 (€1.75 each), paid once. See the Studio packs.
