Clearial Privacy Policy
Note: This privacy policy applies to the Clearial iOS application published by Bulsu Labs (BLS Logistics and Storage d.o.o.). For questions, email info@bulsulabs.com.
1. Overview
Clearial ("the app", "we", "our", "us") helps you track and reduce your alcohol consumption. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Clearial iOS application.
By using Clearial, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Onboarding answers: age range, drinking-habit questions, goals and motivations. These stay on your device and are used only to personalize the in-app experience.
- Drink logs: the number of drinks, blackout flag, and any note you write for a given day.
- Preferred language: the language you choose on first launch.
- Subscription and purchase data: handled entirely by the Apple App Store and our subscription platform, RevenueCat. We do not see or store your payment card details.
2.2 Apple Health data
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Clearial reads and writes the "Number of Alcoholic Beverages" quantity type so your log stays in sync with the Health app. You can revoke this access at any time in iOS Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Health. We never see this data on a server โ it is read and written directly between the app and Health on your device.
2.3 Sign in with Apple
The Friends tab lets you sign in with your Apple ID to unlock invite features. Clearial only stores a local flag that you are signed in on your device; we do not currently operate a server-side account system, and no profile data leaves your device as a result of signing in.
2.4 Information collected automatically
Apple's App Store and RevenueCat may collect standard technical information (such as device type, OS version, and anonymized purchase events) needed to process subscriptions and keep the app running. See Apple's and RevenueCat's own privacy policies for details.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To show your calendar, streaks, and progress inside the app.
- To keep your Health app in sync, if you opted in.
- To manage your subscription and unlock premium features.
- To personalize onboarding content based on your answers.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not run advertising or third-party analytics SDKs inside Clearial.
4. Where Your Data Lives
Your drink logs, notes, and onboarding answers are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage frameworks. They are included in your device's iCloud/iTunes backups if you have those enabled, but Clearial itself does not transmit this data to our servers, because we do not currently operate a backend for it.
5. Third-Party Services
- Apple App Store & StoreKit: processes purchases and manages subscriptions.
- RevenueCat: manages subscription entitlements. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-generated identifier and your purchase/transaction data, not your name or drink logs. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Apple Health: only if you explicitly grant permission, as described in section 2.2.
- Sign in with Apple: only if you use the Friends tab, as described in section 2.3.
6. Data Retention
Your local data stays on your device until you delete the app or clear its data. Subscription records are retained by RevenueCat and Apple per their own retention policies, generally for the duration of your subscription plus the period required for financial record-keeping.
7. Your Rights
You can delete all locally stored drink logs at any time by deleting the app. You can disconnect Health access at any time in iOS Settings. To request deletion of any data we may hold about your subscription (e.g., via RevenueCat), email info@bulsulabs.com and we will process your request within 30 days. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
8. Children's Privacy
Clearial is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country).
9. International Data Transfers
Where third-party processors such as Apple or RevenueCat transfer data internationally, they do so under their own safeguards and privacy policies referenced above.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
